Timahoe (Laois)

This very worn, squatting figure at the base of the doorway of the 12th century Round Tower
might be a tongue-sticker, and might be exhibitionist.
The head is similar to the contemporaneous figure at
Berrymount.

A second figure seems to have been stolen.

The figure could be the model for some other Irish squatters,
such as the (possibly-contemporaneous) re-inserted figure at
Moate.

The capitals of the Timahoe doorway feature the common Irish motif of large-eared men with interlaced hair and beards.
